Anyone know where to buy 5" DD coil?

Does anyone know the least expensive place to buy a 5" DD coil for an Omega 8000. The cheapest I've found is $135. I bought a used 11" DD for $80, so I'm trying to find the 5" for a little less than full retail.

and I usually go no more than 10% on my retail discount rates. I am sure you might find a clean, gently used specimen ..... but only if you look hard. Once a savvy detectorists slaps that 5" DD on on their unit, they quickly learn just how valuable that coil is as .... parting with them happens only rarely.

"Monte" let me ask you about using a F5 5" DD on the Omega,
Yes?
No?
I was told they are on the same "Platform"

Thanks.

latter F5 w/screw-on connector ... Yes.

The 5" DD coil is still my favorite coil of the entire "Greek" series of Teknetics models, and we'll add the compatible Fisher line as well. I use the stock 5

Thanks alot Monte for the info. Yes, I really want to buy one. I am just trying to find a good used one first, but I know the $135 is a great deal on a new one. I just got the 11" for $80 and I hoped to find that kind of deal.

I got mine for $90 used. Expect $75-100 and pops up every 6 weeks or so.

Monte,

when using the 5" coil and a very low Sens. setting because of hi EMI I have found alittle faster sweep picks up the good targets better, have you ever run into this?

I just found a guy on ebay that as selling a detector with multiple coil package including the 5" dd. He sold me that coil for $95 shipped.

I'm one of the guys Monte knows locally with the F5 and keep my 5" DD on almost exclusively, unless I'm outside of the urban environment that is not loaded with trash, then I go to my 11" DD. The 11" is an EMI magnet on that machine in town, but killer in less trash, and not a ton of interference around. I'm still new with that machine, but ironically what has helped me more than anything with it, was to buy a Tesoro and learn how to NOT go so much by the VDI on the F5 and more by the tones. While the VDI is a useful tool, IMO it is not what I go by when I dig anymore. The Bandido II was kind enough to teach me that. (Monte may have also contributed to that!!)

Good luck on the coil hunt, I'm sure you will love it, not to mention the machine feels so much different by not hanging the 11" on the front of it.

Happy Hunting!! :detecting:
