Yeah, used to mount them under the armrest on straight shafts, the same way as the smaller box gold demon and larger box diablo.

Nice n light either way.

What were we paying for those? From memory they hit the $800 mark pretty quickly. Remember the intro of the Lobo tracker, $1495, geez.
 
My brother had a Diablo up on the Palmer back in the 80's, found a few pieces with it but it drove him nuts with the ground noise.

Can you remember the full page add for them Jonathan?

They had the coil on the ground with lightning bolts blowing away the ironstone!

Any turn toward the Max at the end of the sensitivity dial had them going into spasms even on soft white clay heaps.

They'd air test very well though, just without the lightning bolts.
