Anyone replace the mini headphone jack with 1/4 inch XS

Bob Szabo

Ive been having trouble with the mini headphone jack on myh XS cutting in and out. Has anyone taken the detdctor apart to rewire this into a quarter inch jack?

sunray makes a detector stand for xs that has a converter built in to it i think it sells for 20.00 probally cheaper than minelab will do it for i have one and i like it. bought from rick in nd.

I didn't do it personally but had Minelab do it along with a few other things. The small jack was the first thing to go fruit on my XS soon after I bought it and then the arm rests kept breaking along with the lower shaft breaking at the rivets. They replace everything at no charge. I would call Dick up and ask about the plug-in as that was faulty to begin with.

Hey buddy, hows it going. Glad to see that you finally posted on the forum. Hope to get together real soon to find the deep ones. Later!

Is it the jack itself in the detector or is it the headphone cord? If it is the detector, it could be just dirty and all you have to do is get some electronic cleaner(that leaves no residue) and spray it into the jack. If you are talking about switching from the previous jack to a bigger one, Sun-ray makes a stand with a cord that plugs into the small jack and the stand has the 1/4" jack on it. You can also go and buy a adapter that goes into the small jack and has the 1/4" jack on the other end of it. Hope this helps.
