The patten date must be up for the GTI 2500 so White's released a new detector called the vision.Runs on three frequencies and works on a full color screen with signa graph and other gizmo's to give you target Id and size looks like the next big thing ! Come on Garrett blow it away !!!!!!!!!! I'm sure they have something in the works!

I just read the Spec's and field report on this machine, all I can say is ....."WOW" :surprised:......If Garret don't come out with something new soon......Sorry Garret..........hello White's. It's a bit pricey, but if it does what they say, it will be worth it.

Yup, the GTI detectors almost come under the heading of a "one trick pony". When compared to what's out there now they're rather limited. The imaging is nice.. if you want to use a big coil but, aside from coins/rings (and maybe some relic hunting), they aren't really good for much else. People (like me) are looking for "bang for the buck" and what will serve as many purposes as possible. C'mon Garrett, get a move on! ..Willy.

GTI technology is almost 15 yrs old (I'll stand corrected) and it was inevitable that some manufacturers (Whites, Minelab) would develop better technology. I believe Garret can do the same, I don't think they can ride that "GTI horse" much longer and still stay competitive in the MD market

I don't know about keeping up with the jones's, look at how many still use the Gold Stinger and make impressive finds. How old is that one?? It's human nature to want the best do-dad out there. I love fiddling with the settings and over anylizing each target VIA the TDI, that's also why I only have one TDI...... lol. Ace 250. I do better when I grit my teeth and just dig a mountian of crap. Water hunting is about as "pure" as you can get. Digging piles of targets cause that's where the rings are!

Yeah I've seen it. A video game on a stick. I like them simple. It probably won't be out for another month until it hits all the treasure shows.

They'll come out with something soon that will blow the competition away but as secretive as they are one won't know it till the last minute.

Bill.

Yeah remember Charlie was an aerospace engineer who developed guidance systems for missles that went into space. A fancy detector should be a piece of cake

Video game on a stick? That's funny.

Well said cc8137 and I'm glad to hear that Garrett's has something going on in R+D Bill. I bought a non Garrett machine yesterday for gold hunting. I had considered the Gold Stinger, but the 3x9 volt batteries and no auto ground tracking was enough to put me off buying it.
While I think that the new Vision looks like a great new asset to the detecting community, both users and manufacturers, I'll be sticking to my GTI for some time to come. I've only just getting to know it and be comfortable with it.
I suspect that the Vision will cost around AUD $2600 over here as well, so it won't be cheap.

I'm sure Garrett has something on the stove cooking. Until all the correct ingrediantshave been added, tasted and it is left for a while to see if it goes sour quickly, it won't be available for serving.

Some Garrett Technology 15 years old??? You bet! It's(GTI/GTP) one of the few new technologies that has come out in the 10 few years. I can't imagine doing most of my dry land hunts without the sizing/imaging features. For those who have learned it well, you know why. New technology is a wonderful thing.:)

Heck Mick thats about a month of coin shooting for you! You lucky dogs w/ 1 and 2 $ coins! !!!! Also I wonder if folks will be lining up at 4am to get their I-phone I mean Vision.....lol. I just can't see spending $1500 USD on ONE machine. Hell I could buy 7-10? great machines. Use one a day and rotate em!

Yeah I think MSRP here with wireless phones is $1699.00. That's quite a load.

Bill

That much?? Holy Cats! I'd have to sell EVERY machine I own and still pony up +$600. Yikes! It would have to be the do all end all machine for that. I'll wait and see what yall think about it!
