Anyone try the NEL Thunder on the F75?

Someone I know tried one on an F70 and seem impressed...NCtoad.
On his first outing it found a gold ring for him.
He is in NC. and in soil that balanced in the 60's and in desert conditions with dry crumbly soil pat 7" he found a cent at 7" and a thumbtack and the back to a lapel pin loud and clear at about 5".
Nothing deeper so far but he just had that one run with it.
He also mentioned it was quiet with perfect pinpointing and target separation abilities.

Thanks! I'm a relic hunter that has a spot producing bullets at 12"+ which is all my MXT with 13" Detech wanted to handle. Acquired a F75 with boost and thinking of putting the Thunder on it.

I have a Tornado on the F75 but want to give the Thunder a try. Nel ranks it slightly deeper than the Tornado yet at the same time better separation. If that holds true I will be very happy.

Yes, that's me. I used the thunder today and found a quarter at around 7"...the deepest quarter I've found so far. I like it for big soccer fields and such. I also have the NEL hunter and the separation between it and the thunder seems about the same to me. They both separate really well. I'm a newbie so take my observations with a grain of salt;) I have a little test garden in the backyard with all clad: a quarter at exactly 8", dime at 7", copper penny at 6". The soil in my yard ground balances at 88 and is red clay full of mica. The thunder will easily pick up the penny and dime with a totally strong signal from any angle with sense at 50 and thres at +3, disc at 1. The hunter coil will easily pick up the penny, but doesn't have a strong signal on the dime. The stock 10" concentric barely picks up the penny. That 8" quarter is really hard and can only be picked up reliably with the thunder coil in all metal mode. Just for reference, the only other detectors I've tried on these coins is my two compadres; one that I bought for my daughter with the 5.75" coil and my newest one I bought for me with the 8" coil. Neither one will make any sound at all even on the penny. I tried my compadre the other day at a local park with different soil and got a penny at 5-6 inches no problem. So that patch of red clay in my back yard is some nasty soil.

I to have used the bigger coils on the F-75 & I was a little On the disappointed side , as they made the F-75 just Heavy ..... I never saw a (Big) depth advantage.

Just running the (stock coil) in all (metal mode) unleashes a deep detector, I now saw a (large) depth advantage ..... without spending anymore $$$$$$$

I get where you're coming from but the site I have in mind is producing civil war bullets at over 12" and the T2 classic in all metal isn't getting many. A MXT with the Detech Ultimate coil I think is missing some as well. A F75 running boost with a big coil is the last stop before a Minelab GPX.

Just a little add to F75 in disc, I don't know why by you will get about another inch just by running the tones on DP.

I had a 13" Ultimate coil for mine and traded off pretty quick, seemed it was doing good on big targets but was less sensitive to the smaller items. I am not finding a lot of big bullets in my area but I do find like 22cal slugs used for hunting and my F75 hits those pretty hard.

Good luck with that NEL Thunder if get one.

Get a Whites TDI and save thousands.
