Anyone use a 10x14 mono on their Sea Hunter MK2

How is the stability on the wet salt Coverage and noticeable depth increase?

I just recently started using the Sea Hunter MK II. The first time I used it with the 8" mono coil. On the next hunt I used the 10"x14" mono coil and noticed a dramatic increase in depth (a good six inches or more) with no loss of stability on salt water beach/wet sand and surf. I have used the Infinium LS for several years and the depth of the Sea Hunter MK II with 10"x14" mono coil is better than the Infinium 10"x14" double "D". However, although I have never used the 10"x14" mono for Infinium, I understand that it detects deeper than the 10"x14" double "D" which I have used. Oh yeah, and the 10"x14" mono coil for the Sea Hunter MK II is very light compared to Infinium 10"x14" double "D". Good luck and Happy Hunting!:)

Thanks for sharing metalhead about the Sea hunter Mark 2, I'm following all the sea Hunter post closely keep them coming. I'm looking for a good used one and not have much luck no saltwater beaches in the Midwest.

I have the Sea Hunter MkII with both 8" and 10x14 coils, but I hardly ever get to use it. I have used both coils and find both very good. The 8" I have found to be more sensitive to small rings (gold) and jewellery(silver) than the larger coil, but the 10x14 definitely goes deeper. I found a very tiny gold ring (9k) with the 8" which did not register when I* tested with the 10x14. Also found a small chain bracelet with the 10x14 which registered only as a blanking of the threshhold...thought it was something deep, but it was only about 1" down in wet sand. The larger coil has absolutely no problems with larger rings, yellow or white gold and goes very deep on heavy rings and things like watches. The only time it has been unstable was at one beach where the surf was very rough and black sand was being whipped through the water...the water was full of sand being churned up and this beach has a high concentration of black sand...otherwise the 10x14 has been quite stable. All the best.
