Ive only read good reviews Neal.... but unless you are in open areas it wasnt an improvement over the 12 incher and heavier. I talked to a several people before i bought the 12" everyone liked it but preferred the smaller coil just because it wasnt as heavy to swing. Ever consider the WOT? Big coil lighter and ive seen it work... works great for open areas.

I'm figuring now that it must have been a bad one. Extremely noisy and busy unless you turned the sens. down to the teens. I sold it to Bryce and he said the same. Then he bought another one and likes it. I'm thinking I may try a WOT again. Thanks Dew. Happy New Year!

I got it by mistake as I wanted the 10X12 and ordered the wrong one, but glad I did as I like it. It seems a bit heavy and take a while to get used to it and only used it a couple of times, but I used it in a area that had been pounded for years plus James had just went over this area a few days before. I got 2 older IH 1880 and 1872 that we had missed before out of a small area. It was a old race track and there were nails and other iron around and yet this big coil was able to find these IH pennies.Like i say for what I have used it on my E-Trac I do like it.

Good ground coverage, well made, deep and suprisingly sensative to small items for a coil of its size, i use mine mainly for the beach, have used one on the Sovereign, Explorer and Etrac with much the same results, weight wise just over 2 oz lighter than the Wot 15". It does start to feel heavy after a while if your not getting targets, i have found that shortening the rod an inch more than your normal length helps to make a difference and makes it seam lighter

I bought one last year it worked great on a old ball diamond that has been pounded hard over the years. I found quite few buffalos, wheaties, one standing liberty quarter on edge, three mercury dimes and one silver war nickle. I bought a swingything for it makes a lot easier to hunt.

Yes, I use the SEF 12x15 and like it a lot. However I switch between it and the Pro and x12. All of these coils are super and each finds things that the I missed with the other.

If you get an x12 I'm going to suggest that you get both the skeleton and platter coil covers. I think it comes with the platter cover as default. At least for me pinpointing - actually finding the pointed target location under the coil after moving the coil to the side - is a bit tricky and I found myself kind of digging a larger than needed hole to find the goody.

Take care, good luck,
Doug M.
