April 10, First hunt and first silver of the year

Went out for an hour before we had our Good Friday meal. Still a bit of snow left on the sportsfield i went to, pretty wet, and kept hitting frost from 2-4 inches down.

I used my 10" D2 on my MXT for the first time and hit the same area I was using my 12" Super. I will say that the DD does separate targets a lot better. I was also trying out the relic mode, centre trigger, so all in all, was a learning hunt.

Managed to only pull out 22 cents in clad, but what surprised me was finding the 2 rings in the same area I "thought" had covered fairly well. One a cheap copper with a large deep red (almost black looking) fake stone, and a little silver ring with what looks like a pearl. Don't know if the pearl is real or not. The ring is stamped, but can't make out the numbers. Someone "borrowed" my loupe......

Got the kinks out, will try again tomorrow.

Sounds like you did pretty good with the 10" coil. It would seem not being able to read the numbers inside rings without a loupe is a common problem experienced by a lot of us on this forum.:rofl:. HH Dennis in Idaho

I carry a magnifying glass with me also. No way I can read the dates on a new coin much less a old coin...............I think that has something to do with being young...... And every hunt I go on is a learning experience......

Ooops, I thought i had posted a pic. My bad, here it is.

You did good.........:clapping:

Congrats on your first outting this year. What a way to start off the year! I hate it that the writing on the coins, jewelry, etc. are all such small print these days. HH to all, Nancy
