April Finds I never posted

This hunt was over on a hill near by me. Most of the finds were just under the leaves a few inches down. It's amazing how oldies don't sink very far in the deep woods. My first wedding band, even if it is just a copper one. It's still pretty old.

Nothing too spectacular here, a Navy buckle, perhaps from WWII era? What I thought was pretty cool was the pin I found. It came in a hole with a bunch of trash, buttons, and that roach clip looking thing with melted plastic. It came out of the hole just in the condition you see in the picture. I'm wondering if it is silver? I would think even a steel one would have some sort of tarnish on it by now. Does anyone know if they made those type of pins in silver?

These finds were from a club hunt, a member gained permission to hunt a few older houses that were going to be burned down for fire fighter practice. Was a fun hunt, with lots of neat stuff found.

Can't but love digging in them old yards just waiting to see what comes out next. WTG with all them neat finds. Continued Success, Good Luck and HH to you on your next hunts.

Nice button. I found a similar patterned one recently with a different back mark. I believe the marking is actuall "extra rich orange colour" rather than "extra high". That's a common back mark for old gilt buttons.
