From what I understand is that these machines are more senistive to gold.Do they discrimnate.I aso heard that the aqua star batteries only last 6hrs.How can the machine tones for coins sound weaker than gold espically when its a deep target.Will it discriminate at all because pulses pick up alot of nails.

They do not discriminate.
The Aquastar battery charge life at full transmitter power output is about 6 hours. On battery saver it goes up to about 12 hours. This unit at full power draws about a
