General Rules

The Finds Treasure Forum Classifieds is for individual use only with the exception of banner advertising buyers. Those buyers may advertise their traded in, discontinued models, etc.

Individual sellers may post their normal unwanted detectors, or accessories in assigned classified forums, but they  cannot exceed (1) one item in a (3) three month period for each classified forum.

Only For Sale, For Trade, or Wanted to Buy ads are allowed.

Only Forum Members Registered for  90 days or longer that have more than 24 significant posts in our other forums, may post For Sale or Trade ads.

Rules for Non Sponsoring Sellers:

  • Items for sale, or for trade, should be your own personal property and be accurately described.
  • Your for sale or trade post should be self contained, without references to another site where you may also have it for sale.
  • Do not put links to eBay.
  • Do not put links to other forums where you may also have the same item for sale or trade.
  • Dealers are not allowed to post in Classifieds unless they are a sponsor.

Advertisements not adhering to the above rules will be deleted without warning or notification.

Hello all.

Just talked to the owners of ARA and YES they did change their policy. HOWEVER All of us that have used them AND newer detectorists that want to use them are OK

In the note you send to ARA, make sure you put in your letter your a metal detectorist and you heard about them through THIS forum. They added that to stop the general public and the hastles they have recieved from the general public. NO further documentation will be needed except your name and where you want the check sent to.

I hope this helps everyone.
 
OK, I haven't used ARA yet, but what is the new policy, and what were people complaining about?
 
The new policy is if you want to exchange your gold there you either have to have sent them gold in the past OR you need to write in a letter to them your a metal detectorist AND you heard about them through a metal detecting web site like this one. Or as their site say's, you have a business ID number.
 
Thanks for posting the information. In my experience with them, ARA has been excellent to work with; they do what they advertise they will do.

A trusted family business just send it in no hassles,give them 2 weeks to get your check.You are safe with them.Paying 98 percent you cant go wrong.
 
Hey Suba..... some of the guys have talked to them and they say they want a DL and SSN?? They also said they are being treated as a pawn shop for individuals is why they made some changes. There may be more.... with a requirement to hold for 30 days. Have you heard this?? Its always gossip until its fact but you seem to be getting great info for us.

He said that if anything else changes he will call me. We had a good talk. Since I compared them to Midwest and 123 Refineries, I kind have been rooting for them on here. There are NO other changes in the works. Just let them know your a metal detectorist and you got the information to send it to them on here and your name and address and of course the gold, and they will send you a check. ANY problems PM me please.

I want ALL of you detectorists to have a great experience and get the most for your gold. They will ALSO give you a price on your diamonds if you ask and they remove the stones free and send them back. There is NO others like them that I know of.

I send some gold and silver to ARA. Talked to them yesterday they never required a SSN or Driver License. I was told there issue is with the fly by night individuals taking advantage of people by buying gold CHEAP knowing they could send it in at their price for a huge profit. Personally i think thats admirable to many of these people really taking advantage of unaware people. But.... they do want to know the finds were from metal detecting.

or do you just tag it and bag it and hope for the best.
 
I just recievecd an advance check of $1,900.00 for gold and silver I sent in Monday. Got it yesterday, They caculated my advance at 45% for some reason, but enough to keep me above water.
 
Hi,you said that you ship 19oz gold to ARA,they will pay
you around $4200.00 for your gold and silver if my calculation are good.

In Canada if i would sale 19oz 10k gold i would receve around $14000.00

SOMETHING IS WRONG HERE.
 
The shipment before this one was 190z and yes I recieved over 15 thousand for my gold and silver.


I have to quit diving for the year now. How sad to put up all my gear.
