on top of the snow and ice we already had and another 1 to 3 inches of snow expected this afternoon. Schools all over upper lower Michigan are closed today due to the weather.
I have concerns.
Last year the pest control company had it annual Christmas party down in Lansing. We didn't go. Can't remember why exactly - maybe my health or Sherry's or no money or something. Anyway, we were unable to go. Sherry is determined to make it this year....tonight down in Lansing. My concerns are for all of us if we do go...we need safe travel as they are saying visibility will be near zero and with the driving winds there will be lots of drifting. We don't have the best heater in our van and temperature with this arctic blast will not keep us 'toasty'. (Never kept us toasty during normal winter weather).
My other big concern is the pets. I know the other day I mentioned that about 40 percent of our worries never happen. My concern is for the pets should the power go out...we have no one nearby to crank up the generator and at least provide heat in the house.
Another concern is if I stay behind (because I am the one who knows how to run the generator) then I would be concerned about Sherry and Casey every second they are out in the elements.
Asking for prayers that God will let us know what path to take, provide safe travel to and from should we go, to keep the pets safe and secure as well while we are gone for most of the morning, afternoon and into the late night coming home.
I'd hate to have to have Sherry miss yet another Christmas party...one that has been reserved and paid for at an expensive restaurant by the company owners down state. I guess it is up to God and Sherry.
This certainly isn't the winter we had last year...with being able to metal detect into January 1 like last year.
Please pray for God to do what needs to be done according to His will and not ours and let us accept whatever it is God tells us...whether we like it or not. Thanks everyone.
This prayer comes to mind:
God grant us the Serenity
to accept the things we cannot change
Courage to change the things we can
and the Wisdom to know the difference.
(Pray of course can change things even when we physically can't and we need Wisdom in knowing and doing what is God's will over our own).
I have concerns.
