tempted to detect freshly excavated areas? They have been doing work on our road here this year and have cleaned off areas roadside. Grass, trees, and everything, and even paths into the woods, almost to my property. Think its worth a shot?

So? How's the Exp II? Any words of wisdom?

Try it what can you lose but a few old coins if you don't try.

It still looks brand new. I think I baby it too much. I really haven't been able to get out with it much at all. However, what I do know is that the EXII does not like air. Hold it as close to the ground as you can, swing rather slow, some say a second a foot. Make that coil cover work for you. Keep it clean between the cover and coil after each use. Turn your thesh hold down to barely audible. Take your time and enjoy. If you don't already have one, get yourself a sniper coil, AKA 5" or so. For heavy trash areas. Might check with Sunray for their recomendations. They seem to have a pretty good line of these type coils. Myself I have an excellerator 5.500". Seem to do pretty good. Good luck, God bless, and happy hunting.

Sounds like a possibility. If there has been activity along there in many years past and if you have no other burning hot spot then give it a shot. Gold is where you find it !! And someone from another state may come along and detect it all Steve in so az

And be sure to turn the sensitivity down until there's no chatter. It seems when I had the sensitivity up high it made a lot of noise, which can be unbearable at times. I love the EX2 because of the depth and the 28 frequencies where you're getting the best of both worlds. Kind of a balance if adjusted just right.

From the land of the Bluenose...without a doubt they are good sights. Bardman and I drooling here as an old 9 hole golf course is being developed for housing...first shovel hits the ground there and we'll be right behind! On the outskirts of the course I have dug around 4 or 5 foundations with some success and a lot of golf balls!

Every time I see fresh dirt, I think of swingin! Especially in the winter! To me it just depends on what was there. If it's in the middle of nowhere, where there was nothing, then I think a wast of time. If there was old houses there at one time, then you got to try!

you will always wonder what could have been there and if you hunt it and do or don't get anything, then you'll know for sure and won't regret it!
If you search it, then I hope you do find something and that it is a good find or finds!
God Bless & HH!
