Hi all
Completely new at this, Name is reamer.
I was trying my new AT pro at an old abandoned railroad station. Knowing all the trash and iron that is going to be there, I set to:
Standard mode.
Sensitivity in the middle.
Iron to 37
and Notch mode shutting off everything below 75.
But I kept getting a great sounding "bell" tone all over the place, but not in any consistent location.
for example, it would bell chime on the stroke to the right, but not coming back,(stroke to the left)
the bell would be "over here" then "over there"
No consistency, when it was consistent, and saying target about 6" I dig out a beer can.
What Am I doing wrong?
Are beer cans supposed to be in the high 90's?
Thanks

Seriously, your machine is normal and with the overload combined with the notch it was acting normal. A common giveaway is to raise the coil and ask yourself "Would a coin give this strong a signal at 8"?". BTW, ALL machines do this. It registers as a quarter/dime on my Ace. Raising the coil, my Ace w/sniper coil picks it up a foot!
