Are Minelab coils repairable? Is it affordable or should I just buy new coils?

I have a 10.5" stock coil that is falsing, a slim line coil that is falsing, and an SEF 13 x15 that is falsing. Can anything be done to them or should I just toss them?

3 coils falshing ..I think I would do a factory reset and make sure you have good batteries and good contacts

Yeah, that is NOT likely unless they ALL got run over by a car. Kind Man has the advice you should do STAT! It's possible for a coil to "go bad" but not 3....

I've had several coils start falsing when one of the wires to the connector came loose. Falsed like crazy in fact. Remove the upper shaft and attach the coil and try pulling and twisting on the wire. If you can make it false worse or better it might just be a simple solder repair job.

Before pointing at these coils being bad, I would find someone with an Explorer or Etrac and ask them to meet up and try your coils on his machine as a test to see if in-fact you do have faulty coils. Best of luck !!

I didn't realize it had already posted so I changed the heading only to find........

Definitely wiggle before jiggle, unless boobs are involved.

In my case I had to remove coil covers and clean them out. Then I left them off all together. Machine and coils work great now.

:lol::lol: We have GOT to get together...as long as you leave the twerking at home.

Im wondering if you figured it out also, as im having issues with a slimline coil myself altho my problem sounds a bit different than yours.

They didn't all go bad at the same time, it was over a few years time they went bad. One may have been bad when I bought it used from someone else. I'm just going to get a new pro coil or ultimate coil. When you buy used coils you never know just how used they are. When you take them on trips with other guys sometimes the cables get abused by shovels and luggage etc.
Thanks for the help guys!
