I JUST GOT ONE AND I WAS TRYING IT OUT IN MY CELLAR WITH DIFFERENT CURRENCY AIR TESTING THIS MACHINE SEEMS TO GO VERY DEEP, I ALSO PUT JUNK ON THE FLOOR PLUS MY WEDDING RING.FOIL IT NULL OUT, FLIP TOP IT ID AS FLIP TOP, MY RING SONDED OUT BEAUTIFUL AS FOIL, ALL WITH INCREDIBLE DEPTH. I HEARD THEY WERE GREAT BEACH DETECTORS ALSO. DO I NEED MY SOVEREIGN ELITE.

Well they have been around since 93 and to my knowledge only changes have been cosmetic...must tell you something...Coil for coil as deep as any on the market. Some have trouble ground balancing, but easy procedure should come with practice. They seem to like real rusty deep nails which come in coins all but again with practice in the field and reading MIKES CZ page you won't dig many. Two of the best detectors I have used on saltwater beaches are a CZ and Sov. but a CZ is a lot easier to handle for long hunts due to its configuration either rodmounted or hipmounted. Many get confused using two completely different machines so how many units you have is your call.In addendum do your testing in the field or back yard at least as CZ's handle outside electrical interferences well but could be affected in your cellar..

I had one a while back and they are great machines, honestly I wished I still had mine. They had great depth and were never fooled on tinfoil no matter how big or small the piece was. I am up here in Canada and our clad coins would read out in the pull tab reading, but a trick is to put the normal/salt switch to salt and sweep over the clad and it would read zinc penny. works everytime and the pull tabs would still read pull tabs, and they were great on beach hunting. what do you mean by being fooled by foil. a lot of your rings are in the foil range. and a large piece of foil will usually i.d. as nickel.

Anyone have experience of CZ7 for using in U.K. What is sensitivity and pinpointing like. Do they go deep.

I lived outside London (Hillingdon) from 1990 to 1994. During that time I used a Fisher CZ-6, Tesoro's Toltec 100, Pantera, Whites Spectrum, Garrett GTA-500, and a couple others. I used the Spectrum the longest, the Toltec 100 was by far the best performer for land. The CZ-6 was deep liked iron (keep in mind my detector was one of the earliest production models of the very first generation of CZ). I did not get along very well with the CZ in England. However, I now think I was probably operator error as I had a really problem making myself turn the sensitivity down (just had to keep it cranked up). Had a British friend that bought a CZ-5, found a silver penny of Offa and paid for the machine in the first month. I currently use on land a CZ-3D most of the time (finally learned to turn down the Sensitivity), a Tesoro Sidewinder some of the time. In the water I use a Fisher CZ-20 and a Whites Surfmaster PI depending on where I'm hunting.
