I moved to Ecuador and just purchased a new X-Terra 705. I have my other detectors in the States and won't be bringing them here until sometime next year. I have read the manual, watched videos, etc, but still can't get the "AU" to show up on the screen to set Noise Cancel. I am wondering if there is a problem with the machine, or more likely what I am doing wrong? From the start I turn machine on, set Pattern 1, Press Menu button to Noise Cancel, Press Coin/Prospect button, but "AU" never appears. Any button I push after that gives me the deep tone telling me that is not an accepted input. I have tried so many other combinations as well to no avail. If anyone can tell me the procedure that works on their machine, I will try that. Much thanks, Sam

You have to go to settings and it will say noise cancel. Auto is the left button on the detector. Once you get to noise cancel in The settings you then hit auto. It will then PPP up on the screen.
Sounds like it might be one of two things...either the detector is not functioning properly. Or, you're not in the Noise Cancel mode when you think you are. Take a look at the icon that represents NC, and see if that is where you're starting from.
