I'm thinking about making a trip to Arkansas for a few days to relic hunt. I have never hunted in Arkansas before does anyone have suggestions about where to go. I was thinking about Pittmas Ferry area.

Be careful where you hunt at Pittman's Ferry. On one side of the river, the land owner used to forbid any metal detecting there. Now, this was several years ago, and that land may have changed hands. On the other side, my uncle used to own it all..... 220 acres. But I think he may have sold most of that land..... retaining access to train his field trial dogs. The small town of Current View in on his side of the river there, and he is probably just outside what might be the city limits ( if it's even incorporated). There is one of the oldest roads in Arkansas there...... I think from St. Louis..... running all the way into Texas at one time. I forget the name that it held. I read at one time, a diary/log of some naturalist that traveled through in the 1830's I believe. He stopped there and spent the night a a bording house/tavern. It must have been a wild place back in the day!
