Caught up with some of the folks last night in the chat room. Anyway, I mentioned a 20 cent piece I found last week and promised I would post a picture of it. Have got to get another scanner or a different camera because this just one aint cutting it.
I'll go ahead and post the dates of the coins found that week just in case you can't make them out.
The holed Half is a 1936, I found it under a root bed of a large cedar tree 4" down.
The Eagle is a 1928 and was found where center base would have been at an old baseball park in North Alabama, the dateless Buff was found there too and both were 7" deep.
Now for my BEST coin of the year, the 1875 20 Cent piece was found behind an old railroad station not far from my Mothers home in Alabama ( under 4" of gravel and another 6" of dirt) ... this one made do the chicken dance in broad daylight in front of several onlookers
It was my first 20 cent piece and although not perfect by any means, it was one I've been searching for all of my 26 years of detecting.
The 1904 IH was found 2' away from the 20 center.
Good Hunting
Mike

That's the 1st 20 cent coin I ever saw found by a detector.
Excellent, and I do mean EXCELLENT find!

on the front page you will see one... click the thumb nail

Didn't he find it over in or around Indiana about a year or so ago and it is a VERY valuable coin?
Mike is really a great detectorist and wich I could detect with him some day seeing as how I'm originally from Ohio. I mean, come one! That should count for something!

Great Finds mike. I would have liked to have seen the chicken dance though. Just kidding.
