i'm viewing the manual on line at the library and the detector is at home. how does the coil wire go into the lower shaft. the wire seems to be bigger than the slit on the bottome of the shaft so i didn't know if the wire slids in or you push it in. thanks for any help.
 
bought it used so i think the cover was missing. don't remember seeing one. i got it assembled but i'm not sure if everything is right. the manual says to push the lower rod into the upper until the upper reaches the rivets on the lower. i couldn't get it to go that far. i haven't hunting yet but just swinging it in the house there seems to be some wobble with the lower rod. i'm going out later to see how it does. thanks.
 
.. make sure the cable is in as far as you can get it in the channel of lower rod, I used a little dish soap on the part of the cable to make it slippery enough to push in there better, I also used to turn the cable in the direction of the coiled part to compress it a little so it had more room in the upper rod, then connect it before letting it spin back.. if you get a X1 probe, you wont have to worry about all that
