At Pro 1/4" headphone adapter

I have the Garrett 1/4" headphone adapter. I have tried it with their Ace250 stock headphones, worked fine. Hasn't worked with anything else....using a 3.5mm to 1/4" adapter to plug in with. Only sounds off with speaker. Anybody out there help me with this? Garrett headphones work great but they're heavy and hot in the moderate to warm weather.

If you've checked that the connection is tight and it's still not cutting off the speaker, you may need an in-line volume control. I think that the issue was resolved in the newer machines, but some headphones (without built-in volume controls) used to have this issue. Easily solved at radio shack or a bit cheaper on ebay. The one I got was a Koss.

Thanks for the tip...already tried it though after speaking with Garrett. Bought two different volume controls and still not working even though I tried four different headphones. Maybe it's just a bad adapter. Gonna have to work with Garrett about this. Thanks again for your input.

Bummer - well, at least Garrett will get you fixed up if it's the adapter. I suppose it could be an impedance issue, but I don't know enough about that to be much help...
