AT PRO and Hearing Aids

I wear newer digital hearing aids (Alera) in both ears. I must remove them when wearing headsets due to feedback. My hearing aids are Bluetooth capable and I have a small device that allows me to interface other Bluetooth devices to the hearing aids. It allows me to Send/receive audio to/from any other device that is Bluetooth capable. Now if only I could rig the AT Pro for Bluetooth; especially underwater.. I can also control the volume of the hearing aids either as a pair or individually. Any ideas about installing an internal (waterproof) Bluetooth device inside or attached to the AT Pro that would do this. I know I can get the headset adapter cable and hang a Bluetooth transceiver from it but that would not be waterproof... Would be nice to have the tones sent directly into the ears.. :punch:
 
You should talk to the dispenser/audiologist who programs and services your aids. If they are worth their salt, they should be able to make a custom program that will be compatible while you wear the headphones - it may be a good idea if you could take your detector into the specialist's/audiologist's office and tweak the programming a bit so that you don't get any feedback, but still are able to hear what the detector is telling you. Alera aids are RICs, but are fairly programmable for most people and their needs. In-the-ear aids are better-suited for this purpose, but almost everyone I work with uses a RIC-type aid (receiver-in-the-ear)

I use this for my Deus controller and it's waterproof to over 100 feet!!!

There will be more and more demand for metal detectors TO hearing aids compatibility and it's not as hard or complicated as people make it out to be. I saw a post on here where a member used a Bluetooth controller on his AT Pro to a wireless set of headphones - if THIS is possible then it's not any harder to Bluetooth the audio to a set of wireless aids!

Like you said - having the tones sent directly to your ears may re-open a site that has only mousefart signals remaining...let us know how it goes!
