hi folks , got an at pro about 4 years ago from reilys treasured gold . it suddenly went crazy after 4 years . could hold it above your head and still it wouldnt shut up. ahh!!

disconnect your coil and see if it still makes noise,if not its your coil

If you get water in the coil connector to the box, it will constantly produce audio sounds with virtually no way to influence the audio with the controls. It could also be a situation where some water got into the coil. Disconnect the coil and put both the coil, connector and box near a warm area to dry it up in case water is an issue. You might also want to try a different coil, to see if the electronics are faulty.

Good luck! You can also call Garrett and get a quote for a repair. From what I have heard, post-warranty service costs are quite reasonable with Garrett.

went to use my a/t gold today and when I turned it on same as what you are having trouble with. wont shut up numbers running from 35 to 90 very fast. only way to stop it was to turn sensitivity all the way down. tried other coils new batteries factory reset , will call garrett tomorrow

called Garrett today, no easy fix has to go back to Garrett for repair
