AT Pro on depth

In Nebraska I have recovered pennies and dimes at 9" that was solid. Keep in mind that the deeper it is the less chance it will ID correctly. I pay very close attention to what it sounds like in pro mode.

the at pro hunts as well as my se pro both get great depth under the conditions the se is a bit deeper on average but the at pro keeps up pretty darn well in most cases i tend to go to my atpro frist most of the time as it is just plain fun to use

I agree bigboar,

More depth is nocitable with the 8.5"X11" DD on the AT Gold, a must have coil for open areas yet still gets good sepration in trashy areas.

Plus, still snags small stuff with ease. Love the coverage, having allot of success using it especially park hunting.

Below are recent finds, four wheat pennies and a deep buffalo nickel from a pounded park.

Take care,
Paul (Ca)

I've been using the ATP for about 14 months and am satisfied with it. I would like to have a sunray probe for it but maybe one day. Anyway I was having no luck other than some clad and junk on an outing. So I slowed down and told myself I was going to really listen and see what the ATP was telling me. I'm in Pro mode, iron disc on 35 and ground balanced 10 numbers below auto. I' swinging at a moderate speed and hearing every beep. I slow down try to recover the beep and after doing a 360 out and crisscross from where I last heard it I ring up some VDI's. Sometimes good repeatable VDI's and the longer I stay over the target the stronger the response. Sometimes if I'm not getting VDI's or a strong signal, I'll pinpoint in a crisscross until I get a sound and if its a repeatable good tone or pops up some good numbers I'll dig it. I found a standing liberty quarter,a mercury dime,a roosie and a gold earring using this method. I used the same method in a yard that my partnerand I hit pretty hard found a lot of clad in the past. I found 10 wheaties, with the oldest being 1913,one zincoln,1 clad quarter and very little trash using my speed up.slow down and id method. Try it you will be surprized and find better and deeper targets.

Forgot to add I was using the stock coil. I'm going to try it with the 5x8 and see if I can get similar results.

Does iron disc on 35 ignore most nails, wire, and old beer caps in a plowed field setting ? Were do most of you guys run your iron disc ?
