im asking this for a buddy, he was out in virginia for a relic hunt, bought the at pro while he was there (this fellow is an old time digger from the 60's and says this is the machine for bullets), he went back to the hotel, cleaned up the machine, packed it away, but forgot to include the nut and bolt. i was told that all garrett machines use the same bolt, i hear its 3/8 by 3 inches, im hoping someone can confirm that for me, im trying to rig something up tonight so this fellow can hunt tomorrow. thanks

The bolt kit for holding a toilet seat on is the right size and are cheap.

Jerry, thanks for that tip, I change toilet seats all the time at work, I'll be keeping those bolts now, I'll boil them first tho, when I change the smoke alarm batteries once a year, I keep them too
