If I am in all metal and open the disc window and set it at 2 is that the same as being in DISC 1?? and (if setting at 2 is not like disc 1) if the disc window is set at 2 is that still all metal mode??
 
Do an air test and see for yourself. Or check a marginal target in the ground with both modes. At very low sensitivity DISC mode seems to be amplified.
