ATGOLD from garrett

outdoors

New member
have been using the ATG from garrett for hunting the colorado river at palo verde below blyth california at the sand bars with good luck in finding fine gold ankle chains and braclets ,rings
and other targets... thinking about hunting dry washs in arizona around Rich Hill and other washs... would the AT Gold with 18 khz do the job in the dry wash on small gold and some flakes
of gold with the 5"x8" dd stock coil or the round 4" coil be better...

The 4" hockey puck will give you a slight advantage on small gold over the stock DD. http://www.findmall.com/read.php?27,1801819,1801863#msg-1801863

the stock coil should do well & will cover more ground :detecting:

Here is the average size nuggies found at Rich Hill, in the alluvial fan. In my opinion, you will have a tough time in that hot soil with the AT Gold, running a stock coil. Take Steve's advice and use a small joey coil.
