ATPRO vs Cortes

Thinking about trading my Cortes for an Atpro. Can anybody make a comparison between the two or have used both machines?

I think you would be disappointed in the Garrett

Haven't run a Cortes but run an AT-Pro and an Etrac. The AT-Pro is a pretty versatile machine once you learn it. Especially if you run the 5x8 DD coil. Great in trash! Put on the Sniper coil and hunt along the edge of chain link fences and up against metal poles, that one has paid off for me. No sweat if it starts raining and wading is no trouble either. Used it on everything from playgrounds to salt water/fresh water wading with decent results.

To me the Garretts are all very chatty Cortez is much more quiet

Thanks for the advise. I have made some good finds with my Cortes. Was thinking about replacing it since it is 8 years old. Maybe I will keep using it.

Depends on how they're set up. Unless I'm in really mineralized soil I haven't seen that at all.

For chatty an ETrac on high manual sens holds the prize but can sure find the goods.
