ATX Finds its first silver

Had a chance to get to the coast this past weekend with a buddy and hunt an old beach. I mainly hunted the dry sand due to the high tide but that was ok. I found quite a few older coins at some very impressive depths. Two 1940's nickels were well past the one foot mark as well as a few wheatie pennies 8-10 inches. There were also a few wheat's and a bunch of newer clad very shallow, six inches or less. The 1941 quarter was only 6-8 inches. The ATX preformed flawlessly and was very capable of getting the deep stuff.

Hi Frank, I found the coins at this beach with machine ground balanced. I did try it with the machine in the preset ground balance as well and it was so deep I ended up having to abort a few holes, they were so deeeep. The next time I go I plan on experimenting some more with the machine with it in the preset ground balance. I think I need a bigger scoop.

So far this new machine seems to be working flawlessly. I don't think ANYONE has had any complaints.
Garrett is one heck of an innovative company!
