ATX in VA hot soil

Has anyone used the ATX in the Culpepper, VA area soil? And if so, what type of depth may I expect to see?
Used the ATX fall of 2016 DIV very good depth if you dig high tones be ready to dig fence wire. Dug a knap sack hook 8 or 9 inches good repeatable signal. A very young hunter dug a confederate officers button using an ATX the detector was bigger than he was.
