Audio Control

Gadget

New member
Has anyone ever tried to hook a variable resistor (rheostat) to the audio output of the MXT to give it a makeshift volume-only control? I've been wondering this for months and think it would be a very easy mod to do.

I have the Sunray Pro Headphones and even with the limiter swith on the VCO surface blast is too loud for my ears. I have to turn the volume down which defeats the purpose of the limiter. The guys at the factory have ordered another varistor for a possible modification
for my phones and I am waiting to hear from them. I will let you know the outcome if you are interested. And by the way the phones are great
and if they can beef up the limiter switch to my liking they will be perfect. Most comfortable phones I have ever worn. The more I use them the more I like em. No more sore ears and city noise. In fact,if you could hook them to an IPOD I would always wear them in the city.
Now there's an idea. Have a little mood music while you hunt, maby catch a weather report out in the boonies?

Mike
