Audio Spectrum Analyzer

After checking out quite a few other products, I downloaded the Audiotester by Muller in Germany. You can download it to try free from sumuller.de/audiotester The trial version is complete except that it will quit after 10 minutes and make you reload it. This is the best bargain I have seen for a long time as the full version is only US $30. It works really well and it comes with all sorts of features. Not only is it a spectrum analyzer, but it is also an audio generator, and an oscilloscope! The software uses the PC's soundcard so there is nothing else to buy. I was very suprized at how well the analyzer works. You can drag the scope window to whatever size you want it, set the display bandwidth, select the dB levels etc, etc, etc. To test the program using the PC's microphone, select OPTIONS then WAVE IN CHANNEL then MICROPHONE. Adjust the levels on the scope display with the up and down arrows on the top and bottom of the display. Set the required bandwidth with the left and right arrows each side of the display. You can now whistle away and watch the whistle frequencies being displayed along with all the room noise. This guy Muller must be a very clever person! He even has a secure link so you can pay by credit card. You can pay in a choice of different currencies such as US$ or Euro's. This program is just what we need to help us unlock the mysteries of detector signals.

This is a very good program, good enogh I volunteered to rewrite the rather poor help files. This is no reflection on the program , it is excellent. In any event within a week or two a version of this will have a new help text.It will take a while to get out all the help bugs, let me know if you find any. Unfortunately, this program can help only in the audio section of a PI. Most front end signals are too high in frequency.
