Automatic retune for Impulse

SWMO Mark

New member
I know the Fisher Impulse never became popular because of the lack of a automatic retune. What I have always wondered if it might be possible to make it run like a SAT. I know on my Nautilus you have a choice of runnung it with a manual retune or automatic. On the automatic retune switch there is a 1-2 megohm resistor. Cant remember exact number. I am assumeing this resistor is allowing a small charge to go to the retune circuit, instead of haveing to hit the pushbutton retune. If this is right, wouldnt it be possible to add a similar resistor on the Impulses retune switch to accomplish the same thing? Anyone have any thoughts on this? Thanks, Mark

Hi Mark,

No idea. If can can find the Impulse schematic I might be able to say, but it was a fairly complex circuit for what it achieved. Also unusual was its bipolar triangular shaped pulses, rather than unidirectional more or less rectangular, that most PI's have.

Eric.
