This is what AWANA stands for. Many of you are aware of AWANA clubs on Wednesday night's at many church's
For those that are not, it is a kids program to help kids learn about Christ, memorize many verses from the Bible, have fun, a snack, and it is also an outreach to kids from the area that might not get to church otherwise. Many kids are saved each year through AWANA clubs. I was one of them.! :)
Tonight was our last night and we had birthday night for everyone. Now we will have summer break. I am one of the leaders there, and run the games for K - 5th grade. Tonight was also a special night because Grace won the first place award!!!! This is given to the person with the most points. Points are given for bringing your Bible each week, wearing your AWANA shirt, bringing your AWANA book, and if you bring a friend. She got a nice trophy, and she also got a special certificate for being the only kid to finish her book and memorize all of her verses! Not bad for a 1st grader when the oldest kids are in 5th grade.
I am proud of her! :)

Congrats Grace on the Award and for attending your AWANA meetings! I'm sure mom, dad, brothers and sister are very proud of you and Jesus loves you this I know for the Bible tells you and me so! :angel: God Bless! Betty
 
Hey Mike. Tell Grace Joan and I are very proud of her. We were AWANA leaders at our former church for 7 years. They have AWANA at our new church, but it is on Wednesday nights, and I work nights, so can't be involved like I want to be. When school is out, they don't do AWANA and I am on days. Would love to be able to get involved with it again. That is a great program. Thank you Mike for being a leader in this important ministry. Oh, and great pictures too!
