Hunted a new park last nite near by. Probably dates to the early 1900's. Other than some clad and pull tab signals near the surface everything else was super deep. Im thinking it was a fill at one time. I hit a 74 memorial at atleast 8", 1930 wheat at 10+ inches, and surprisingly a 44 merc at only about 6". Only been at this park about 2 hours so it is very promising. And now I know what sound the etrac makes when a good target is at the edge of detecting. And just wanted to say that it can be difficult to pinpoint in pinpoint mode with this monster coil but if you back the coil while swinging away from the signal it does a beatiful job pinpointing in the notch of the coil when you lose the signal. Just another thing to mention is that this park had great soil. Very easy digging and was very moist. You could have dug a nice plug with a backhoe. And the oldies were in such beautiful shape.

Thanks for the update on the coil Joe! Congratulations on the finds. Did those deep targets bang in solid and hard??

Thanks for the pinpointing tip using this coil. Sounds like this coil is working well for you. Did the coil feel heavy after 2 hours of swinging it? I'm also interested in a response to NebTrac's questions. Congratulations on the finds and thanks for posting.

The coil does get a bit tiresome but I also just came from work and was super tired already. I think on a normal day I could do probably 4 hours. The coins did not "bang" in solid. They were more like one way hits, but when you slow down and circle them you can get them to sound good and keep a pretty consistent number on the tid. At first the numbers were jumping a bit. What also helps is this place did not have much trash. If it were to have alot I might have skipped all iffy targets and only dug those "bang" in solid signals. Hope this helps.

I made a thingy that has an adjustable bungie cord that I simply hook to a VERY comfortable small back pack and go round the handle. It goes on and off easy and I only use it if I get tired of the wieght. Or you can just get a swingy thingy for the shoulder weight. After a sholder blowout a few years ago i thouoght I would never be able to get back to my favorite past time but with the swingy I made and doing lots of things I never thought I could do enough of I have built up other muscles that are takeing the weight off and I get out when I want to and use the Swingy I made only if I feel I need it.
