My wife's cousin just purchased a a farmstead built in 1884. The photo is a small part of the 2 acre detectable area, I wont post other photos because it would give the area away and her cousin doesn't want a bunch of people in the yard or knocking on his door. Apparently, from the the history records kept by the family who owned the place, the property was used for many of the town events and a few county events as well. The earliest record of a function was from 1902 when an annual church picnic held until the church burned in 1946, When they rebuilt they added land to the church yard to hold the picnic there.
There are photos of political events there, (Again not showing pics) as the front porch was the speaking platform.
I have been planning on doing youtube vids for some time and figure this place would be a great start in the spring. His wife showed me an Altoids tin half full of coins found while planting flowers, and working in the garden. I'll post a pic of those later when they send them to me. The coins range from clad to Indians and Barber dimes, and several old foreign coins to boot.
Stay tuned for the vids.
