Somebody is a good shot.... I have an 1892 indian head that was shot also but bullet didnt go all the way thru...
 
I found a Lincoln memorial once that was shot
still among one of my most favorite finds.

Back when I was young (that was a long time ago) I remember my Father and my Uncles talking about folks using pennies for target practice. Also they would try to strike a Strike Anywhere Match shooting a .22 rifle. Looks like you found one of the pennies from someone made a real good. A Very Neat Find.
