I was going to call my Dr.today about this infected cyst on my neck ;but it hurt so bad,it was giving me a headache,so I went to the hospital instead...GOOD THING I DID;in spite of the ordeal awaiting me...:sadwalk:The good Dr. took one look at that thing and said"GOOD GRIEF;STEVE-THAT THING HAS TO COME OFF OF THERE-NOW!!!";and he proceeded to tell me how most cases of this are a STAPH infection...He said its all around us-But;let it enter thru a cut or some other wound;and LOOK OUT...THEN:He told me"Steve;Im going to shoot it up with numbing as best I can;but I gotta tell ya-ITS GONNA HURT ANYWAY"...I said go for it.He numbed it up,THEN PROCEEDED TO CUT OUT A 1-1/2"WIDE BY 1 INCH DEEP PIECE OF FLESH TO DRAIN THAT THING......:yikes::sadwalk::sad:Im not ashamed to tell you all I cried like a baby;it hurt that bad-like it wasnt numbed at all...He said he got it all,and he put some packing in it that has to be taken out by my regular Dr.tomorrow, then dressed up.He kept telling me"Im sorry, but that had to be done"....After I semi-recovered;I thanked him for being a life-saver...I am no stranger to staph infections-Back in '87;I injured my right knee;and got staph in there;and it got in my blood....I spent 10 days in the hospital after knee surgery having antibiotics pumped into me-They told me after I recovered;I had less than a 50/50 chance of surviving that staph;and less than 24 hours to live if the meds didnt work.ANYWAY:Thanks for the prayers-and;also give a prayer of thanks to our medical profession-AMEN!!!

Wow, when I was in high school, I got a paper cut on my finger. The next day my finger was all red, the next day my hand was red, the next day my arm up to my elbow was red, then the next day my whole arm up to my shoulder was red, and by then you could see all of my veins, they were maroon color, and my arm was all constricted (like having a 1,000 cramps at the sametime), I finally showed my parents. The took me to the emergency room. The doctor said I had Cellulitus (Blood Poison) and at the rate that it was spreading, the next day it would of go to my heart, then all over my body. He said I was luck I didn't wait any longer, it could of killed me if it got to my heart!!!!

I hate going to the doctors and I figured it would just heal on its own, I was wrong!!!!

Ouch...that hurts just thinkung about it. I'm sorry you had to endure that kind of pain and hope that he got it all. Got you in my prayers!

Glad they got it right away! Hope it heals fast!

Warthog....that was a dangerous predicament that you encountered!! When I worked on a surgical ward, and in the ER, I assisted at these types of incisions... and it is a good thing that you got to the ER when you did. Thanks be to God that you are now recovering from a very dangerous Staph infection!

Steve. any cut is painful and especially when a hunk of flesh has to be removed. Sure glad you went to the hosp and the dr caught it in time. Too many die from Staph Infections! My prayers are for a speedy recovery and quick healing from what you had to go through! God bless and keep you in His care always!!

God Bless!
