Back from my annual beach trip....

I just got back from Virginia Beach and the conditions were terrible Monday and Tuesday, but got better Wednesday and Thursday.
Winds up to 30 mph made it tough to hear and detect, but I stuck it out and brought back a few coins.
One morning I only found 2 quarters, but happened to search and area and found 11 foreign coins... all British coins and with the exception of two of them, they were dated back from 1948 to 1950.
No gold or silver this time, but I did hear of a couple pieces of gold and silver found while I was there.
Most of the finds came from the beach although I spent quite a bit of time searching during low tide too.
Thanks for looking!

WOW... your haul eclipses mine by 10x. Are you primarily a dry or wet sand hunter ? I spent most of my time in the damp sand to waters line. I did walk about 200 feet of dry sand and not even a whisper to be heard. What was your weapon of choice ?

Sorry it didn't pan out for you, but did you get together with Max for a days hunt by chance ?

Looking forward to next yr, I guess ??

I put in quite a bit mote time detecting than you too Mark…. About 5-6 hours each day over 4 days.
During high tide I usually try up on the beach, then try lower as the tide works out.
Even though there was not a lot on the beach, I found more there then at the surf line.
I am still using my 800.
Like someone stated in your post, unless you live nearby and can get out when conditions are good for detecting, it’s a crapshoot.
One thing that was nice this time is that the temperature was about 74 and cloudy which at least helped from tiring me out in between signals which at times was a long time.
I did not get to detect with Max this time…. He was coming one afternoon, but the weather turned sour.

Nice hunting Felix! I didn’t realize the winds were that strong! You must of been sandblasted 🤭 Neat British coins! Strange they are dated from 1948’ - 50’. Maybe little Jimmy took them from dad’s coin collection 😂
