I finally got my XS back from repair, after about 2 months. Ive not used it for about 4 yrs. Now getting back into it. Using mostly the preset settings. All I have found is clad and memorials. Nothing deep. What can I do, or am I missing something. The area I hunt is a old park which in the past yrs. have found Indians and older coins. Can it be hunted out. I use the smart screen in detect. Should I be using Iron Mask also. Any help out there. Some times in the very upper top right corner, with a high pitch tone, I dig a aluminum can.

I hunt in almost same modes but I use iron mask. You have to GO SLOW to get the deep targets. Dig the deep signals even if they aren't necessarily in the upper right corner since it could be an Indian head cent, heavily tarnished silver or a mixed group of coins. After about five years of us, I still sometimes dig deep aluminum cans as well as deep iron that sometimes sounds good. It will take some time but you will get the feel for it. The Minelabs all have a very long learning curve. Good Luck!
