The surgery went well this morning. The doctor used internal stitches and 'glue' to close up the surgical area (dime size hole). Sometime this afternoon the anaesthetic will wear off and I'll experience life without it. The doctor made a point of telling me to stay out of the sun for the remainder of the weekend (no metal detecting for you she said). Thank you all for your prayers.

It's comforting to know your friends have your back (in prayer). When the anaesthetic wore off late this morning, the resulting headache was incredible! About 4000mg of pain killer later, it finally began to settle down. Looking forward to getting the pressure bandages off tomorrow morning. The next surgery will be the 1st week in August and it will be nice to have it done but not looking forward to the recovery side of things. Please be sure to wear protective clothing and plenty of sun screen, when you head out detecting this summer.
