My wife and I went to a local park. We split up, I headed for the picnic pavilion and she headed for the playground equipment. I was having great success, apparently people with holes in their pockets love to have picnics, I was cleaning up on clad. At one point I look over and my wife is on her hands and knees under the domed jungle gym set with her detector leaning against it and her pin-pointer in her hand. I figured she was having a tough time locating something, but from experience I knew to let her go at her own pace. Later we got together to take a break and share finds. I showed her what I thought was an impressive pile of clad. She gets a big grin on her face and shows me an even bigger pile of pennies and nickels. She said her machine went nuts under the jungle gym and so she used her pin-pointer to locate the target. She kept hitting coin after coin with the pin-pointer, easily fifty pieces or more. Apparently there was a community event in the park the previous weekend and one of the events was to find the coins in the sand. Those kids did a terrible job, but my wife sure cleaned up.

We are having a blast with our machines. We are going to the big beach next Monday for our first real beach combing expedition. We can not wait.

Welcome back to everyone, glad the forum is back in action.
