I went out four 4 hours this morning and yes I did go back to the county I had been run out of yesterday. Not to the same site which would have been stupid on my part until I hear from the Town Supervisor. I had to get back on that horse and I rode fine all morning. More about yesterday after my sig if you're interested.

I found my usual ton of clad. 132 coins for $16.62. I was skipping a lot of zinc pennies. Also the F-18 which is now my favorite toy found to date. ID bracelet is junk. Remember that refs whistle I found Thursday? Today I found a security whistle/flashlight combo. Ornate earring, junk I think.

Picture 3 is a dolphin ring I found last week and one I found today. The junk one I found last week and kept thinking I sure liked the design and wished it was silver. It has glue on it where a stone once sat. I only had to wait 6 days to have my wish fulfilled. My new favorite silver ring. I have a niece that loves dolphins and I'm guessing she'll want it. 2.37 g. My other niece is crazy about metal detector airplane finds (I'm not joking) and she'll flip over the F-18. I still love detecting even in the forbidden County!

I am about 90 percent sure I'm going to file a complaint against the guy. No matter how I tried to direct my thoughts this morning I couldn't think about much else. I had two nice conversations this morning with strangers and both agreed to listen to my tale. One guy actually grew up less than a mile from where I did and we both moved to this area. Small world. Both suggested I file a complaint. I was looking over my shoulder all day when I normally wouldn't. I'm very unhappy that this guy got to me. I'm sure he's forgotten it already.

That's it! Mine is missing both sets of wheels too. Jinx buy me a coke!

BTW. Why don't you post photos of your finds?

Chris

Congrats on getting that sweet ring!!
I found a 10k dolphin ring just last weekend to match a dolphin ring like yours I found a few weeks back(Can't find the pic)!! Kinda pretty ain't they!!

Now I gotta find a gold one? You're gonna have to give me a year or so. Nice ring BCD! Trade?

Chris

You dug some good items..Congratulations!

I don't want anyone to think I bragging showing all my pull tabs, foil and zincs!!!! Oh yes, and my plane.

that a good amount of coins i can see why you don't want to leave this area & that's one SWEET ring.

just curious how you continually find so many coins? does no one anywhere around you detect?
I have cleaned out all the playgrounds, tot lots etc close to me, and when I return they are still mostly empty.

There are a lot of detectorists around here but they concentrate on the older sites and leave the parks and playgrounds pretty much alone. That's why I concentrate on them. This Winter I plan on doing a thorough analysis of my hunts but here is a fact from 2007. My best and favorite site produced 1019 coins and my total take for that year was 5605 coins. So almost 20 percent of my clad came from one virgin, never hunted, playgound. When I started there I could get 45 coins in an hour easily, and it was only 3 miles away! I am pretty sure my best 2008 site has produced close to 1500 coins. My first time there I got 222 coins in 5 1/2 hours 1/2 hour of which was breaks. That said. I do not question why there are so many coins at a site. When I find as site with a good supply I work it hard and then move on. There are a lot of bark chip areas around here and I only have a few that fill up with more than a coin or two in a month, or two, or even three.

Close to you. How far is that? I will say this. Last year I rarely hunted more than 10 miles away from my house and this year I am traveling 20-25 miles for some hunts. This hunt was a 46 mile round trip. If I drive this far I usually like to stay for at least 3 hours and collect at least 10 bucks in clad and hopefully some better goodies too.

Chris

I have found a few sites where I do not find many coins. I know them to be favorite hunting grounds of three or four other THers.
