Hey all,
I went to another house just off the green in my town tonight. Dug a pile of clad but also scored a Belt plate and what I think is the top of an ornate pair of scissors. The scissor top is stamped sterling and I'm pretty sure that's what it is. The belt plate I want to try to ID I have done a little Google on it but no luck yet. Here's the only clue I've got other then the picture that you see. The house it came from is 1765 its made of brass its got a Capital U and R on the front and some sort of crest in the middle. What do you think?

You are on fire man:hot: That is one cool scissor handle. You really dig up those oddball silver finds!! Not sure on the belt plate but I would say mid 19th century. Have you been swinging the 12X15 coil? HH Joe

Just the stock coil. This place tonight was full of slag I had to hunt it in TTF worked like a charm. You gotta love an Etrac nothing else out there is as vestal

Sweet finds! Maybe that belt buckle was made for a specific person with their initials and that's why you can't find any information on it. Just a guess.

thats a great buckle. search "buckle Uniform Rank" on bing. turns out to be a rare 1864 civil war buckle. i saw one like it at the last club meet but none of us knew what it was. hope this helps. mike

That buckle is a really nice relic. Great finds!

The flower in the middle of the buckle looks like a calla lily. Pretty cool; keep looking for the other end of the scissor.

TTF at its best!! Yeah the 12x15 probably would not be ideal for hunting yards anyway.
