Hit some local parks. - alot of trash!!
Need a smaller coil - Which One? - Any suggestions??

Face to a name:
We live in a gated golf cart community with 4,500 plus custom homes.
We have 21 parks, lake, fire station and police department.
Custom golf carts are vary poular here. "The other means of trasportaion."
It took me about about 2 years to put this one together- 48 volt with a 1000 watt system.
You Know, I've never seen any else detecting here,
the community hasn't been here long enough to find any old coins.
Not even wheaties!

Otherwise, I'd head towards those hills I see in the 3rd. picture down with the stock coil and look for places that don't have fresh top soil, ya might get lucky.
And if enough of those folks in your gated community knew how successful you've been you might end up with enough interest to form a club.
Beautiful job on the cart by the way !
Ya got that Skull theme WORKING

Love your buggy! I designed a cross between a gocart and an electric golf cart so I could go detecting and be close to the ground. The big tires of the golf cart would let me go on the beach where my wheelchair would not go. I would be able to go places my wheelchair couldn't. I bought the parts and they sit in the basement because nobody wants to put it together, I can't build it because I only have the use of one arm. I sure wish you lived next door.

I think all the coils for the ex work well although Ive only tried the excelerator 8"
I went to a drained lake beach and didnt get any signals...That Mr Chile musta been here.
Is that a golf green plug cutter ya got there?
Nobody here detects either, they just look at me confounded..Huh?
Good luck finding new honey holes.

Bulb planter, works well because it cuts the roots and the Bermuda Grass. Have to pinpoint with the X-1 so as not damage your target.

Thanks; I dont know where your from but here is a link to coustom golf cart shop.
http://www.prestigegolfcarsandcarts.com/albums/album_image/2291585/667019.htm
The picture in the link was the second suspention, air bags. To narrow - not stable around corners.
When I built mine it was one of the first stretch golf carts
I went through three suspentions to find one that would support the weight of six people, one with a wider front end -
stronger shocks, holds 300lbs each - and the tires, I change from the mudders -
(they skipped the CD's at low speed) and went with lawn tractor tires -
Very stable around corners

Good Luck With your cart.

MrChile, now that is one sweet ride. WOW!!! How much did something like that cost and what kind of sound system did you install into that beast? I love the custom paint job and the use of the skull and cross bones. JUST TOTALLY WICKED!!! Anyways, I think you should just stick with that Lake for now and forget about those parks because you do a heck of alot better there than at the park. Isn't the town you live in old, there should be an old park or something around there to detect! Well Good Luck and HH. I use the Joey Coil in trashy areas to snipe out those hidden goodies. If there is alot of junk in the ground you may have to use a 5" coil. Hope this helps you.

Thanks,
About 30K to date. $7,400 into the system
I had a friend make the speaker cans for the sides and front floor board .
http://www.airboom.com/
They were designed to go on the wake board towers on a boat.
They have quick disconnect pins - so they can be removed.
The speakers in the rear cans are facing forwards and backwards so you can hear me coming and going for about a mile!!
10" Kicker Solo Baric subwoofer in rear and with a 600 watt mono block amp.
Six high end 6.5 Coail Component 200 watts each - 400 watt amp.
Alpine, Head unit,
Has a motorcycle alarm system.
Enough, this is minlab Forum. Take care!! HH Bruce

Neat metal detecting rig and the weather looks pretty awesome also. As far as a smaller coil I personally went with the Minelab 8" and have had great results. I think you need to hit the Whites side of the lake and show us some more good stuff. I know they can't have gotten it all over there. In a newer area like what you have I hit the sports fields in Palm Springs when we visit there and have did fairly well. Usually early in the morning or late in the evening. As far as local parks in that area I found a lot of cut aluminum and pull tabs and the small coil really helped. Good luck in your endeavors.

Thanks
But cut aluminum and pull tabs i'snt what I'm after.
Be great if they would outlaw them or make it so the cant be detached from the can.

My sister just moved into one of those "golf cart" communities in Florida. I saw lots of golf carts but I never saw anything like that:) Geez, a 1000 watt sound system??? Your neighbors must just LOVE you

Very cool wheels! Just needs some dice hanging from the windshield :)

HH,

Joe

Joe, thanks for the compliments,

But we saved the chile dice for the golf cart we store at
Riverland Resort - on the river - BY Parker Arizona
We're headed to the river monday thru friday.
