Back to the area where the 22 wheat came from...

This place is just full of wheats...Totals for the day were:
2 Clad Quarters, 3 Clad dimes, 1950-D Roosie, 1917-S Merc, 3 clad nickels, no date Buffalo, 4 memorial cents, a Sterling Silver ring, 1942 Canadian Cent, and 27 Wheat Cents(1917-1939).

Wow, that's quite a wheatie haul for one outing!

Way to go!!! You can't complain when you are finding that many keepers, that's for sure. Keep up the good work and good luck on your next outing. By the way, do you know about Nic-a-Date? It's an acid that will bring back the date on worn nickels. It takes a couple of times placing the acid over the area of the date but really does work. I actually took a 1964 Jefferson Nickel and grinded the date off real deep to see how well it works and wouldn't you know it, it brought it back. You can possibly buy it at your local coin dealer.

found 26 wheats for the year...in less than 2 hours I found more than that..amazing when you hit a spot that hasn't been hit hard...friend had his XLT, wheats came in as junk...BTW Mike...after reading your post, went to 18 man(usually a 32 auto guy) todat...wonder if that made a difference!!

Well the next time you're out, try cranking it up to your normal range on several of the targets and see what happens. What was the depth on the majority of them that you were pulling at 18? Very respectable I'll guess.

Also, with THAT many wheats out there I would expect there to be a few more silver targets yet to be found. Keep hammering it!
