Back To the Explorer

RLOH

Well-known member
I just got my fourth Explorer yesterday. I have spent the last seven years trying every detector made. I always found myself comparing these detectors to Explorers so after many thousands of dollars, I am back. I bought a solid used Explorer 11 with a Sunray x-8 coil, but no Sunray probe. I quickly remember why you need a Sunray probe- these Explorers are DEEP. Today I took my new toy to a park I have hunted hard the past four years. What a test and the Explorer passed with flying colors. No great finds(seven wheats, one mercury dime, and one buffalo nickle) All were in an area I have stopped hunting because of lack of finds. All were 8 to 9 inches deep. Now for what I like best about Explorers. I dug hardly any trash to speak of. Some call the Explorer slow and plodding, but it goes deep for coins and is in my opinion the most accurate detector made period. I am done spending my money and am here to stay. R.L.

Try the new SE 11" pro coil on it and you'll beat those depths. Here in the UK we regularly pick up old 17-1800 pennies at 12-15" with the Explorers, maybe our soils are different to yours. It helps also to have some moisture in the ground which some of you guys may not have this time of the year. We have had a terrible summer here this year with above average rainfalls. Good for detecting but not for the farmers. Crops of Wheat & Barley are still sitting nearly a month after they should have been harvested.

wouldn't come back either now with the new E-TRAC and all it's computer gizmos being the computer professional he is ..with the USB and all-WOW!...but he does rather well with all that beach gold and a few girls on occasion too :)

I started with a radio shack and went right to Explorer and will never leave, cause there is no reason to. The . means period!....:detecting:

but if one is smart...you can cover an area with a fast swinger to get the easy stuff....in less time...but if you want what all others have missed...get an Explorer.....no doubt the best all around detector you could ever have...my opinion and I am just sharing it! :minelab:
