Back to the old farm with the Coin$trike

After a quick 1/2 hour walk-around with the Excel the first time a week ago, it finally rained and softened up the ground. I did a couple hours with the C$ tonight. I would've found more, but for the first half hour I had all the notches turned on by mistake and was wondering where all the signals were! That's what I get for taking a year off last year, so it took awhile to get back into the "swing" of things (groan) hehehe :)

I found 8 coins, including 1925 and 1955 wheaties, an Elgin watch movement made between 1886-1892, a toy flute that I can actually play, a Genesee Silver Plate spoon, a large iron plate with letters that I can't quite make out... SA___ GROES SERE_ or something like that, and a very cool horse pendant.

The homeowners have horses, so I may polish up the pendant and surprise the wife with it soon.

I love when I pop up a plug and an old coin is nestled in the dirt, so I couldn't resist bringing the whole chunk home and taking a picture :)

Looking forward to going back! This 1740 property has much potential and nicely packed soil, so old keepers aren't very deep.

Happy Hunting!

That 1925 penny looks in great condition. Sounds like a great site. I love the old home sites because of all the variety of stuff you find.
