Back when pickings were good. One summer's finds. Pile is two feet long, a foot wide, and about a foot deep. About 8000 coins or so.

Ahh the good old days unfortunally gone forever.
Lots of coins there Uncle Willy for sure ...

Yeah sadly we'll never see those times again. Progress ruins everything. I've got some more pics somewhere of just the nickels and dimes found in one summer. I'll post those if I can scrounge them up.

Aw heck! Yesterday was always one of the 'good old days'! Right now we're living in the good old days! Well, that's what we'll say in a few more years anyway! With the bad economy we expect to find less naturally. HOWEVER..I hear the topless industry is booming! I wonder if we could hunt the green areas around the parking lot without getting uh....bounced :)lmfao:) outta there!?!?!! Do you think the wives will understand that we're just going there to detect.....METAL? Sorry, couldn't resist, heard the story on the radio this am. My one-track mind ignored the normal part (girls) and focused on money being dropped by inebriated patrons!

Coins were plentiful then and I was much younger and healthier and could cover more ground for longer periods of time, plus I didn't confine my hunts to Portland. I went all over and over into Washington.
