Back with this weekends Haul! Part:1:detecting:

Well, I'm back again with the finds from this last weekend. The weekend started out Slow but Sunday was a different story. I found most of my finds on Sunday. Tim! If you are reading this, the Fairgrounds is still RED HOT! I went exactly where I found the last 11 Silver a few weekends ago and popped out more. THE SAME AREA!!! Even going back to the Van on Sunday, I managed to get 1 Wheat and 2 more Merc's in this area that I had just pounded. I had to do a Crawl with the Joey Coil to even get signals on most of the Coins found. It was like I hadn't even detected it before. One other thing, I started my hunt under the Grand Stand and found about 8-9 Wheat's, 3 Merc's, 1 Rosie, and an 1889 Indian Head that had only about 1/8th of an Inch of dirt covering it. All the finds under the Grand Stand were only 1" Deep, if that! I am sure there may be some Deeper Coins waiting to be found there still. I also stopped at a Town Hall and found out that it too has Old Coins waiting for someone to dig up. I only did a quick walk thru but found 10 Coins, so it isn't worked out yet. Now, onto my finds that I made during the weekend. I ended the weekend with a whopping 20 Silver! Up to Sunday Morning, I only had 5 Silver for the entire weekend. Found the 15 on Sunday. 10 Silver came from the spot that I had previously worked with the Joey Coil. Unbelievable!!! Like I said above. I was using the Joey Coil again but thought I would try going slower, like Crawling, across this area and see if I had missed any Old Coins. Boy! Did I ever!!!! Going to need a 5" now to really see if I got the majority of the Goodies. Now, onto the finds. For Silver, I found 1 Washington Quarter dated 1943-d, 1 Barber Dime dated 1899-O (better date and mint mark), 11 Mercury Dimes dated 1919,1920-d,(2)1935,1939,1941-s,(2)1942,1943-d,(2)1944-d, and 7 Roosevelt Dimes dated (2)1946-d,1950,1954-d,(2)1956-d, and 1963. I found 4 Nickels also. They are 3 Buffalo Nickels dated 1917,1920, and 1937-d, along with 1 Jefferson Nickel dated 1942. I also found an Aluminum Cracker Jack Token of President Theodore Roosevelt. I also put with this Pic 2 Canadian Pennies I found. They are dated 1940 and 1947. That does it for Part:1. Keep an eye out for Part:2 coming up. There is still a few nice finds in Part:2. Thanks for looking and Good Luck and HH to you all.[attachment 69077 DirtySilver.jpg][attachment 69079 CleanedSilver.jpg][attachment 69081 DirtyNickels.jpg][attachment 69083 CleanedNickels.jpg][attachment 69086 DirtyCanadianCentsandToken.jpg][attachment 69094 CleanedCanadianCentsandToken.jpg]

Here is the rest of the finds. I figured I would throw in the totals for the Clad this time. Didn't dig too much of it but it adds to the Clad pot. I found 12 Quarters, 27 Dimes, 3 Nickels, and 72 Pennies. Would have had more but passed up a lot of it. The rest of the finds are as follows. I found 4 Indian Heads. They are dated 1888,1889,1905, and 1908(no S, Darn!). For Wheat Pennies, I found another Wheat Field. 43 to be exact! They are dated 18,(3)19,25-s,28-d,(2)29-d,30-d,(3)34,35,35-d,36,36-d,37-d,41,(2)41-d,42-d,(2)44-d,44-s,(2)45-d,(3)46,(6)46-d,48,48-d,48-s,50-d,(2)52-d,57-d, and 58-d. For Misc. Items, I found an Old Dare Devil, what appears to be a Trojan Helmet that is a Pin, an Old Belt Buckle, a Minneapolis Dog License Tag dated 1928, and a Sterling Silver Ring. That does it for now and thanks again for looking. Good Luck and HH to you all on your next outings.:detecting: [attachment 69095 DirtyIndians.jpg][attachment 69096 CleanedIndians.jpg][attachment 69102 DirtyWheats.jpg][attachment 69103 CleanedWheats.jpg][attachment 69098 DirtyMisc..jpg][attachment 69100 CleanedMisc..jpg]

I'd be going back again and again...and then some more. I'm sure you'll find some more goodies hiding close to trash.

Very nice finds once again James.................:) I sure wish I had some spots like you have found around your area, but I'll save you the trouble. RESEARCH!!!!!!!! Hopefully this winter I will spend a lot of time at the library and see if I can't dig up some areas to hunt. Leaving for our camping trip this Sat and looking forward to getting away and hopefully doing some serious detecting. Again, nice finds buddy and maybe I will have something worth posting when I get back. HH.

I was in Shock when I started digging Silver and Wheats from the same area as once before. Just goes to show that Slow Is The Way To Go! Good Luck and HH!

Not to mention all the Junk Items I dug this weekend also. Must have been around 150-200 of them! Love those Screw Caps and Copper Wire! Good Luck and HH to you when you get out.

I sure do! One time I was with Rick(ND) at a Riverside Park and was popping out Silver that would only give a short One-Way Blip and Rick said Nails sounded better than those Coins did. They were in the 11"-12" Range. Barely anything audible for a Signal. Also, one of the Club Members was hunting with me just over a Month ago and he couldn't believe how I could pop out them Old Coins. He gave me the nickname Coin Magnet! Isn't that right Mike! I wonder how well Mike did this weekend? If you see this Mike, let me know. Thanks for the Post Silverseeker 2. May you have some Good Luck and HH on your next voyage out.:detecting:

I got your E-Mail. I just haven't had time yet to download the site you wanted me to. I will try and get it done within this week sometime when I get a break from other things. If you have any Old Fairgrounds in your area, try that. Use a Small Coil and Go SLOOOWWW! Seperation is the Key here, not so much as Depth. I hope you have some Luck on your Trip and hopefully you will swing your Coil over that Ellusive Seated Coin. Good Luck and HH Buddy!:detecting:

Almost every plug I opened up there were at least 4-6 Short 22 Casings in the dirt also. Didn't get any kind of Signal from them unless I used the Probe in the Dirt or the Hole. There must be a Ton of Junk in the ground to make the Coins so well hidden. I do plan on going back and hopefully Rick(ND) and his wife Lavonne can meet me at the site so they can try their Luck at getting some Silver. Thanks for the response Bryce and Good Luck and HH to you.:detecting:

Nice bunch of silver you got there...I hope to do as well with my Joey coil...Maybe you want to PM me some settings you use when you have it on. I hope to use it in a trashy area this weekend. As far as my finds, I got out a little on Saturday and found a Caterpillar watch fob, a 1902 Barber dime, and a couple of wheats, and a lot of clad...a long way from your totals. Talk to ya later..
